Virtual reality is here to stay. Our mission at cognitiveVR is to build products that help developers create the best possible experience for their virtual reality products. We have created a series of 3d models for each of the major virtual reality headset units. Please feel free to use these models as you see fit. Each download comes with a set of pre-rendered PNG files. Feel free to use these as you like. We are releasing these free files under the MIT License.

    Awesome work! By the way, do you have lower poly count versions of the models? I’m trying to use these in a Gear VR app, so lower poly count would help a lot. Thanks

      We don’t currently have low poly versions. Is this something you’re looking to include as an asset in your game?

        Hi Rob, thanks for the quick response! Yeah, I’m making a game for Gear VR using Unity and I’m using your Gear VR model, but it’s poly count is around 250k. I guess it works for now, but ideally less is better for higher FPS (right now there is small but noticeable lag when moving your head).

    Two requests:

    1. Could you please scale the HTC Vive headset unit into 1:1 units? At the moment it appears very large when used in A-Frame and I have to scale it down by around 1000x.

    2. The HTC.mtl file references Map__4468847_Falloff.tga. This file is not included in the ZIP?

      Hi Richard!

      The renders are raw files we received from our designer and were meant to be used for artistic renders, which is why the scaling is very large. They also noted that the .tga file is not necessary. Both issues can be fixed very quickly using a 3D tool such as Blender.
